Wartime unexploded ordnance safely detonated in Hoa Binh

The Military Command of the northern province of Hoa Binh, on May 27, safely removed and detonated 244 unexploded bombs, mines, and other ordnance left over from wartime.

The explosive devices were discovered and retrieved from the Da riverbed by a clearance team that has been operating in the downstream of the river, running from the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant in Tan Thinh ward to Thong Nhat Bridge in Thinh Lang ward, Hoa Binh city, since May 7.

All the ordnance was found in an extremely hazardous condition, with safety mechanisms disabled and detonators activated, posing a significant risk of explosion.

The Hoa Binh Military Command transported the items to a designated disposal site, where they were safely detonated through controlled methods.
