VUFO President holds working session with Eurasian People's Association

VOV.VN - Nguyen Phuong Nga, president of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), held a working session on December 1 with leaders of the Eurasian People's Association within the framework of State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s official visit to Russia.

Andrey Belyaninov, president of the Eurasian People's Assembly, expressed his thanks to the VUFO and other Vietnamese organisations for their support and active participation in recent events organised by the group, such as such as an independent debate held on the sidelines of the  UN Food Systems Summit (UNFSS) 2021.

He went on to express his desire to further strengthen co-operation with the VUFO and organisations created by Vietnamese people, with the primary aim of deepening mutual understanding between citizens from Vietnam and Eurasian nations. This will therefore contribute to boosting socio-economic development and meeting the UN's sustainable development goals.     

In response, the VUFO leader also expressed her thanks to the Eurasian People's Assembly for its attention to developing co-operation with the VUFO, while also agreeing with the association upon the need to further strengthen people-to-people exchanges and co-operation between the two sides.

Furthermore, both sides also consented to bolster co-operation in holding conferences and seminars on topics of mutual interest, such as green economy development, digital transformation, tourism in various forms, in addition to popularising Russian-Vietnamese culture and languages.

As part of the occasion, Belyaninov presented Nga with an insignia featuring the words "We say Thank you" in recognition of her contributions to strengthening the friendship between the peoples of Eurasia and putting forth peace initiatives in the region.
