The Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRC) met in Quang Ngai on April 1 to review its emergency aid to victims of the Ketsana storm.

The storm swept through the provinces of Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Kon Tum and Gia Lai last year, causing 174 deaths and huge property damage.

Immediately after the storm, the VRC called for donations from national and international organizations and individuals. Through the American Red Cross, the US Agency for International Development provided nearly VND7 billion to help more than 8,500 households in these provinces.
