He noted that the main goal of VOVNews is to provide its readers and listeners living inside and outside the country with precise, reliable and up-to-date information in all aspects of life. Contributors play an important role in VOVNews’ development strategy, said Mr Loc, adding that VOVNews has now developed a network of contributors across the country.

Speaking at the gathering, veteran journalist Phan Quang, who regularly hooks up and contributes to the website, commended the paper for its recent improvements and hoped its reporters will make further efforts to provide their readers with high-quality articles written in a concise and modern style.

Meanwhile, spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Le Dung lauded VOV News’ role in promoting the country’s image to the world. "VOVNews was among the first media that has covered APEC-related meetings," said Mr Dung.

He suggested that VOVNews pay due attention to the overseas Vietnamese community to create a reliable and useful forum for them.
