VOV wins ABU 2025 Excellence Award in Social Message category
VOV.VN - The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) has claimed the Excellence Award in the Social Message category at the ABU 2025 Awards for its radio production “Late Regret”, delivering a strong call to parents against child marriage.

The awards ceremony took place on September 14 during the 62nd ABU General Assembly in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The ABU Awards, organized by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), is a prestigious international broadcasting competition, recognizing the most outstanding television and radio programs, as well as digital content, produced by ABU member organizations.
The awards aim to honor works that are innovative, of high quality, rich in content, and convey humanistic and globally relevant messages.
Among nearly 320 entries from major broadcasters, including China Media Group (CMG), Japan’s NHK, the Republic of Korea’s KBS, Radio Indonesia, and Hong Kong Radio Television (China), VOV’s “Late Regret” by the News and Current Affairs Channel VOV1 team emerged as the winner in the Social Message category.
With a duration of 1 minute and 29 seconds, “Late Regret” delivers a stark warning to parents, urging them to act before it is too late, say no to child marriage, and allow children to enjoy their childhood, study, play, and grow up in a loving and safe environment.”
The ABU Awards annually attract hundreds of entries from major national radio and television organizations.
The ABU Awards feature 17 official prizes: seven Excellence Awards for radio, seven for television, one Excellence Award for digital content, and two Special Jury Awards for radio and television. Winners receive a trophy, a certificate, and a US$1,000 prize.
