During a visit to VOV on April 22, Ambassador Bergman said SR has proposed a number of co-operative measures with VOV, including a training programme for Vietnam press officials in the 2010-2013 period. He added that SR wants to further strengthen its ties with VOV.

At the reception, VOV general director Vu Van Hien reviewed VOV’s recent achievements and said that from 1993 to 2003, VOV played a pivotal role in a nearly US$4 million “supporting local radio” project funded by the Swedish International Development Agency.

The project helped 30 local radio and television stations to modernise their broadcast methods and develop modern training programmes. In 2005, four VOV journalists were trained in Sweden.
