VOV gathering marks 100 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press
VOV.VN - The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) held a gathering on June 8 at the National Radio Center in Hanoi, to mark the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2025).

Those attending included Dinh Thi Mai, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Do Tien Sy, member of the Party Central Committee and VOV President alongside deputy general directors, former leaders of VOV from various periods, and heads of VOV’s affiliated departments.
In his speech, VOV President Do Tien Sy recalled the 100-year tradition of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press, affirming its indispensable role in every stage of the nation’s revolution.
“Vietnamese journalism has always upheld the revolutionary banner, expressing the will and aspirations of the Vietnamese people and clearly pointing out the direction of the people’s struggle for independence, freedom, and socialism. At the same time, the Revolutionary Press is a sharp tool of the Party and State in propaganda, mobilization, and education of the entire Party, people, and military to unite, overcome difficulties, and achieve great revolutionary victories,” said Do Tien Sy.
He noted that entering a new era of national development, the Vietnam Revolutionary Press has made remarkable progress in quantity and quality, in content and form, as well as in the professionalism of journalists. The press leads in guiding ideology, contributing to maintaining political and social stability, acting as a sharp weapon against hostile forces, while combating corruption, and protecting the legitimate interests of the people.
Over the past century of development, VOV has proudly contributed a significant part. Founded by President Ho Chi Minh on September 7, 1945, just five days after Vietnam declared independence, VOV has received his close attention throughout its growth.
“President Ho Chi Minh’s instructions have become a guiding principle and invaluable asset for VOV in particular and for the entire Vietnam Revolutionary Press. Fulfilling his teachings is not only a responsibility but also an honor for revolutionary journalists, thereby contributing to building a truly people- and country-oriented press.
Honoring his words, for nearly 80 years, VOV has continuously strived to deserve its role as a pioneering force in the ideological and cultural front; accompanying the nation through every historic milestone, from war to peaceful, happy times, and making great contributions to national construction and defence. It affirms its position as one of the leading organs of the Party and State, a bridge between the Vietnamese community at home and abroad, thus spreading connection, love, and trust in the country’s future,” the top VOV leader added.

Entering a new era of national development, VOV is undergoing a strong transformation to enhance its multi-platform, multimedia communication capacity, with digital transformation as a key requirement. VOV has set strategic directions to develop high-quality, in-depth, and humane content; increase digital transformation to deliver journalism products that meet the public’s new demands; and build a fast-reacting, multi-skilled journalist workforce proficient in technology.
On this occasion, VOV’s Journalists’ Association awarded the “For the Journalism Cause” commemorative badge to 36 journalists and members of the Vietnam Journalists Association at VOV in recognition of their positive contributions to the development of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press in recent years.
