Organisations and individuals have so far registered to donate nearly VND3 billion to poor people in response to an appeal from the organizers of the Noi Vong Tay Lon (Joining Hands for Solidarity) programme to be launched and televised live on December 31, said the "Day for the Poor" Campaigning Board.

All the money collected on the occasion will be donated to the Fund for Poor People, which has mobilized more than VND1.73 trillion and built houses for over two million underprivileged people after its six years of operation.
