VinFast taxis to hit Ho Chi Minh City road this weekend
VOV.VN - After being launched in Hanoi, the Xanh SM (Green - Smart - Mobility) taxi service of GSM Joint Stock Company, the first taxi service supplier using electric vehicles (EVs) in Vietnam, will continue to be implemented in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30.
All EVs in GSM's fleet are produced by VinFast, a member of the Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup.
According to a representative of GSM Company, the firm will provide two kinds of service, the standard GreenCar using the VF e34 model, and the high-end LuxuryCar using the VF 8 model.
Initially, GSM's EV fleet will comprise of 500 VF e34 cars and 100 VF 8 cars in Ho Chi Minh City. In the future, it will add the VinFast VF 5 Plus model to its GreenCar fleet.
GSM is set to offer VND20,000 for the first kilometre of GreenCar service, VND16,000/km and VND15,000/km for the next 24 kms for VF e34 and VF 5 Plus cars respectively.
Customers can order Xanh SM taxi via its hotline at 19002088 or the Xanh SM taxi application that is available on the App Store and Google Play Store.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Hoang Tung, chairman of the administration of Thu Duc, a satellite city of Ho Chi Minh City, noted that the environmentally friendly service will offer local residents a wider range of travel choices.
The new taxi service represents an advanced solution that will contribute to accelerating the tourism development in the southern city whist helping the country achieve net zero greenhouse gas emission targets by 2050 as committed at COP26, he stressed.
