The 35th anniversary of the liberation of south Vietnam was celebrated by the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Cambodia on April 26 with representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy and agencies attending the function.

In his opening speech, the Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Cambodia, Nguyen Van Chi said that the event was a glorious landmark in the struggle for national liberation, which Vietnamese people will keep in mind to educate the younger generations about their ancestors’ heroic tradition.

The Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia, Ngo Thi Hoa praised the significant contributions made by the Vietnamese community in Cambodia along with their fellows back home who are busy preparing for the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long- Hanoi.

On the occasion, the Overseas Vietnamese Association launched an emulation movement to encourage Vietnamese nationals to further contribute to maintaining peace and stability in Cambodia.
