Vietnamese universities have granted honourable doctor certificates to two Cambodian leaders in acknowledgement of their contributions to the development of their country’s education and economic sectors, as well as to the tightening of Vietnam-Cambodia ties.

On January 29, the Teacher Training College of Vietnam conferred the honourable doctor’s certificate in education to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, while the National University of Economics bestowed the honourable doctor certificate in tourism on Cambodian Deputy PM Sok An.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam Tran Van Nhung highlighted the great contribution by the Cambodian government head and deputy head to bolstering their education and economic sectors, as well as the active roles they have played in tightening the relationship between the governments, the states and the people of Vietnam and Cambodia.

It is an honour not only for us but also for our country as a whole to receive the awards, PM Hun Sen said and expressed his gratitude to the assistance by the Vietnamese people to Cambodia’s national construction and development.
