Vietnamese students pick up medals at IdPhO 2020

VOV.VN - All five Vietnamese students competing in the International distributed Physics Olympiad (IdPhO 2020) have won medals, including four silvers and one bronze, following the conclusion of the event.

The local winners of the four silver medals were Trang Dao Cong Minh, Vu Ngo Hoang Duong, and Le Minh Hoang, all of whom study at the National Science Gifted High School of Hanoi National University. In addition, Nguyen Khac Hai Long from High School for Gifted Students of the Pedagogical University also secured a silver medal.

The bronze medal went to Khan Le Duc Hoang of Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.

Due to a range of complicated developments relating to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the IPhO 2020, which had previously been scheduled to take place in Latvia, was cancelled. As a result, the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology decided to run the competition, with  the tasks being distributed to competitors in each participating country.

Contestants then attended the competition and were placed under the supervision of observers who had been appointed by the organising board.
