Uyen was selected by the British Council from over 1,000 local candidates based on her outstanding academic achievements and her voluntary social activism.
The summit is part of the British Council’s pioneering Global Changemakers initiative, which is a network gathering young people aged 16-25 with a history of engaging in social activities in their communities.
At the Global Youth Summit 2009, 60 outstanding young people from 44 countries will also meet with the world’s most influential business and political leaders and lend a grassroots perspective to the Forum’s proceedings.
They will share experiences in human rights, climate change, poverty reduction, education, HIV/AIDS and socially responsible entrepreneurship.
