Vietnamese people in Thailand commemorate martyrs

The Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen and the Vietnamese community there held an incense offering ceremony at the Overseas Vietnamese Martyrs’ Memorial in Udon Thani, Thailand, on the occasion of 78th War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 – 2025).

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasised that the Vietnamese people at home and abroad will forever remember the heroes and martyrs, war invalids, and wounded soldiers, who fought and sacrificed for national independence, freedom, unity, and defence of the Fatherland.

The great sacrifices have led to peace, development, and prosperity for the country, and brought happiness to the Vietnamese people today, affirmed Linh.

Luong Xuan Hoa, member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Vice President of the Association of Vietnamese People in Thailand, and President of the Vietnamese People Association in Udon Thani, expressed his pride and gratitude for the revolutionary tradition and meaningful contributions of the overseas Vietnamese community to the homeland over the past century.

He emphasised that the Vietnamese community in Thailand always bears in mind and organises meaningful activities on national anniversaries, demonstrating the inheritance and promotion of the glorious revolutionary tradition, the spirit of solidarity, and deep patriotism.

The Overseas Vietnamese Martyrs’ Memorial, built at Ban Chich pagoda in 2010, is currently the resting place for five Vietnamese martyrs.
