Vietnamese nationals hold congress in France
Vietnamese nationals in France will continue to build a united community, help strengthen relations between Vietnam and France and make a significant contribution to the homeland in the 2010-2013 period.
The commitment was made in a resolution adopted at the 12th congress of the Vietnamese Association held in Paris, France, on April 10.

Delegates approved new rules that allow the association to admit new members, offering opportunities for Vietnamese nationals to provide mutual assistance, integrate into the local community, and preserve and develop the Vietnamese cultural identity.
Doctor Therese Nguyen Van Ky, a member of the Advisory Council of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, was elected president of the association in the new tenure.
In his speech, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Thanh Son affirmed that the Party and State consider overseas Vietnamese an indispensable part of the Vietnamese nation. He said the Party and State have issued many policies to support Vietnamese abroad, particularly the Party Politburo’s Resolution 36.
Mr Son called on the association to renew its thinking and ways of mobilising Vietnamese nationals in France to learn from the experience of its predecessors and make full use of the dynamism of younger generations.
He expressed his belief that the association will achieve more successes in building a united, strong and prosperous community in France.
