The central province of Binh Dinh and the Champassak province of Laos will speed up cooperation in tourism and trade between the two localities.

These are major areas of cooperation for the 2011-2015 period discussed during talks between the Secretary of the Binh Dinh provincial Party Committee, Vu Hoang Ha, the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Thien and a visiting delegation from Champassak province led by its Party Committee Secretary, Sukan Mahalat, on March 15.

Since the two provinces establish cooperative relations in 2002, they have joined efforts have been progressing rapidly in various fields, especially socio-economics and culture.

Binh Dinh has provided veterinary equipment, coconut palms and breeding pigs for Champassak and trained Laotian workers in in-vitro fertilisation techniques.

The province has also granted 44 scholarships to Champassak students to study at Quy Nhon University and provided short-term training courses for six Lao province’s health workers. In the mean time Champassak has trained 11 Vietnamese officials in the Lao language.
