A delegation representing three generations of overseas Vietnamese from 14 nations around the world has visited the midland province of Phu Tho, where the first Vietnamese state was established.

The 44-member delegation was received by Nguyen Ngoc Hai, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

During the reception, they presented VND16 million, US$1,000 and EUR100 to the province’s association for encouraging children to study.

The head of the delegation, Nguyen Duc Mau, said in the meeting that Vietnamese expatriates have a great desire to attend the death anniversary of the Hung Kings in their homeland, and to help underprivileged pupils as well as contributing to Vietnam’s increasing growth.

On April 23, the expatriates attended a ceremony to offer incense to the Hung Kings at the historic Hung Temple complex.
