Representatives of the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea (RoK) have attended a meeting held by the Vietnamese embassy in Seoul to celebrate major anniversaries such as President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday and the Dien Bien Phu victory.

Speaking at the event, President of the Vietnam Students Association in the RoK Tran Hai Linh said young Vietnamese intellectuals in the RoK are greatly proud of the nation’s glorious history and pledge to make further contributions to national defence and construction.

“The memories of the previous wars of resistance against US and French aggressors remain profound lessons to most of the Vietnamese students and graduates who are studying in the RoK,” Linh said. “We’re trying to study and follow the bright example of Uncle Ho (HCM), the beloved leader of the Vietnamese nation.”

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK, Tran Trong Toan, expressed his wish that Vietnamese expatriates will continue to maintain solidarity, patriotism and the traditional values of Vietnamese culture.
