Vietnamese people living abroad organized various activities to commemorate the Hung Kings, legendary founders of the Vietnamese nation.

A ceremony was held at the Vietnamese embassy in Algeria to offer incense to the Hung Kings on April 26 with the participation of all embassy staff and representatives of Vietnamese overseas bureaux and the overseas Vietnamese community in the country.

The Vietnamese embassy in Rome organized a ceremony on April 25 to present the State certificates of merit to overseas Vietnamese in the country.

Ambassador Nguyen Van Nam to Italy said that the overseas Vietnamese always turn their thoughts to the homeland and wish to contribute to Vietnam’s international integration process.

Many Italian friends who had supported Vietnam’s past struggle for national liberation attended the ceremony.

The Vietnamese embassy in Bangkok held a sports and arts exchange with its Lao counterpart to celebrate the Hung Kings’ death anniversary, Southern Vietnam Liberation Day (April 30), and May Day (May 1).

Addressing the event, Vietnamese ambassador Nguyen Duy Hung said that the Vietnam-Laos traditional ties of friendship are an asset that has been built and fostered by the two countries’ generations of leaders.

For his part, Lao ambassador to Thailand Uon Phomachanh affirmed his determination to promote the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
