The event was an opportunity for the Vietnamese community in Mississauga to enjoy traditional Vietnamese music and cuisine and were able to take part in cooking programmes, art exhibitions and fashion shows, especially a performance by famous monochord artist Pham Duc Thanh.

The organiser, Julie Luong said that she wants to attract people from different cultures to the festival, and this is a good opportunity for Vietnamese nationals to introduce their culture to international friends. The festival’s sponsor, Richard Nguyen confirmed that the Viet Summer Fest has helped local people in Mississauga to learn more about Vietnamese culture.

The festival, which was held in Civic Square for the first time will now be an annual event.
