Vietnamese embassy in Italy officially inaugurated its consulate office in the city of Turin on March 20.
Present at the inauguration ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Nguyen Van Nam, representatives from the Piemonte region and Turin, the Italy-Vietnam commercial division, and Vietnamese expatriates in the country.
During the event, ambassador Nam handed over a decision by the Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem to appoint Sandra Scagliotti as Vietnam’s honour consul for the area of Turin, Piemonte and Liguria.
Over the last several years, Sandra Scagliotti has been an active participant in introducing Vietnamese culture and history to the Italian people, and has actively contributed to strengthening relations between the two countries.
As scheduled, Vietnam plans to open another consulate in Venice in the near future.
