The VBS called on Vietnamese nationals abroad to make more contributions to their homeland to support the 1,000^th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi in October and the 6^th World Buddhist Summit to be held in Vietnam in November this year.

Most Venerable Thich Thanh Phong, permanent member of the VBS Executive Council, said that nearly 4 million Vietnamese people are living in foreign countries and they are an indispensable part of the nation. The VBS wants to send a message of peace, humanity and spirit of international integration to all Vietnamese nationals to strengthen solidarity, increase support and uphold traditional Vietnamese culture.

The VBS will also hold similar events in Russia and the Ukraine.
