Some 100 Vietnamese young people representing youth organisations across the country joined their Chinese peers for a friendly exchange programme starting at the Huu Nghi border gate in northern Lang Son province on November 1.

The annual programme is part of a cooperation agreement between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Vietnam and the Communist Youth League of China with a view to consolidating and strengthening the friendship and mutual understanding between young people of the two countries.

During the ten-day programme, the two countries' youth organisations will share experiences in performing their tasks and discuss economic cooperation between young businessmen of both countries.

They will also discuss measures to boost cooperation between young people in localities along the borderline, as well as between Vietnamese and Chinese press agencies.

The programme will also be launched in Nanning and Beijing cities, and in Guangxi and Sichuan provinces.
