Vietnamese, Cambodian friendship associations urged to foster all-around ties
VOV.VN - The Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association (VCFA) and Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association (CVFA) need to better fulfill their role as a bridge of friendship between both nations' people to boost mutually beneficial ties between their localities and businesses and bring young generations closer together.
The statement was made by Nguyen Thi Thanh, vice chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA), during a meeting to review the results of co-ordination activities between the two associations this year, as well as outlining various directions for future upcoming activities.
Thanh also hailed the important achievements that both nations have recorded over recent times, as well as the fruitful relationship between the two countries.
She voiced her hope that with its prestige and influence, the CVFA will provide continued support for the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in Cambodia, thus enabling them to engage in deeper integration in the host nation and enjoy a stable, long-term life.
For her part, Samdech Men Sam An, CVFA chairwoman spoke highly of the co-operation achievements between the two associations in recent times as well as diverse activities specifically aimed at reinforcing friendship, solidarity, and co-operation.
On this occasion, Sam An also expressed her deep gratitude for Vietnam's strong support and great assistance for her nation in the past and at present, saying the Cambodian people will always remember the whole-hearted support and sacrifice given by Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who co-operated with the Cambodian army and people to struggle for the cause of national liberation from the Khmer Rouge genocide regime in 1979.
The two sides consented to step up efforts in helping the two associations grow further as a way of propelling close neighbourliness, traditional friendship, and comprehensive co-operation forward.
