Vietnamese, Austrian experts discuss AI, cybersecurity cooperation
VOV.VN - A delegation from the National Cybersecurity Association (NCA) and representatives of Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security recently held in-depth working discussions with the Austrian Institute of Technology to boost cooperation in cybersecurity, data and artificial intelligence (AI).
In his remarks, Vu Duy Hien, Deputy Secretary-General and Chief of the NCA Office said the NCA consistently views international cooperation as one of its key directions in promoting knowledge-sharing, experience exchange and technology connectivity as cybersecurity challenges become increasingly cross-border in nature.
He said the association serves as a platform linking state management agencies, businesses and the expert community, while actively contributing to policy consultation, legal policy review and the development of a sustainable cybersecurity ecosystem in Vietnam.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on global cybersecurity trends, the impact of new international regulations and priority areas that could bolster cooperation in the coming period.
The NCA proposed strengthening its strategic partnership with AIT through several priority areas, including the protection of critical digital infrastructure; data security and the development of a trusted digital ecosystem; the application of AI and data analytics in cybersecurity; training of high-quality human resources; and stronger expert exchanges and coordination in organizing annual international forums and conferences.
The association also suggested expanding connections between technology firms in the two countries to support technology transfer and joint initiatives in cybersecurity, data and artificial intelligence.
At the meeting, AIT experts introduced a range of technology solutions related to large-scale data analytics, AI-powered communications, smart border surveillance technology, post-quantum security and digital identity management.
According to AIT representatives, combining AI, data science and next-generation digital security platforms would help improve forecasting, early detection and response capabilities against increasingly complex cybersecurity threats.
The meeting was seen as an important follow-up to the Austria–Vietnam Cybersecurity Forum 2026, helping deepen bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Austria in cybersecurity and digital technology while opening up further opportunities for practical cooperation among agencies, organizations and businesses from both countries.
