Present at the event were Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh, staff of the Vietnamese Embassy, General Secretary of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association Motoyoshi Ryokichi, and OVs.
Delegates reviews the association’s activities over the years, including supporting flood victims in the homeland, and raising funds to assist Japanese people and OVs in the wake of the Tsunami and earthquakes in March.
They adopted the revised statute and plan of action for the 2011-2013 term, and elected a new executive board with Duong Van Qua as its President.
Speaking on the occasion, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Phu Binh congratulated the success of the congress and wished that the new executive board would develop well to strengthen solidarity among Vietnamese residents.
Since its establishment in July 19, 2009, the association has made positive contributions to the development of relations between Japan and the homeland.
