Vietnamese architect honoured with France’s Order of Academic Palms

VOV.VN - French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet has awarded France’s Order of Academic Palms to Dr. Architect Nguyen Thai Huyen at Hanoi Architecture University in recognition of her contributions to education cooperation between the two countries.

Dr. Huyen, vice director of the Institute of International &Training and Cooperation, who graduated from Bordeaux Montaigne University, has played an important role in developing the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programmes in Architecture in French in Hanoi.

Her contributions have helped to strengthen the academic relationship between the two sides, especially through Erasmus+ projects and co-operation with major French universities.

During her research and teaching, she took a particular interest in urbanisation processes, landscape changes of cities in Southeast Asia, and governance and stakeholder relations in cities.

Huyen also introduced the territorial and landscape approach to students and experts, while maintaining close relationships with groups of French teachers and researchers.

Initiated by Napoleon I back in 1808, the Order of Academic Palms honours individuals who have made significant contributions to enriching the cultural heritage values and developing art and science in France and beyond.
