Under the new decision, convicted Nguyen Thuong Cuc (alias Foshee Thuong Nguyen), 58, of American nationality, was commuted from her remaining 29-day punishment and deported from Vietnam after her release.

Earlier at the November 10 ruling session, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Court sentenced Cuc to 15 months in prison for her engagement in a terrorist plot.

After being imprisoned, Nguyen Thuong Cuc drew up a petition, expressing her repentance, saying that she is old and in a fatal illness, and asking relevant agencies to commutted her punishment so that she can reunion with her family, living at 3802-Quando DrOelando, Florida, the US, and cure her illness.

Prison guard board B34 issued a document asking the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Procuracy People’s Court and the Ministry of Public Security to reconsider punishment for Nguyen Thuong Cuc.
