Vietnam wins two silvers at int’l astronomy Olympiad in Thailand

Vietnam won two silver medals at the 11th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) which took place in Phuket, Thailand from November 12-21.

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, Vietnam sent five students from the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted to participate in the competition which brought together contestants from 45 countries and territories this year.

Tran Duc Huy and Nguyen Tien Nhan earned the silver medal while Le Hong Long and Tran Quang Thanh received consolidation prizes mentions.

The first IOAA was held in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2007 with the participation of 21 countries and territories.
