Vietnam-US joint military exercise

(VOV) - Vietnam and US navy forces engaged in a joint military exercise in the central coastal city of Danang on April 7-8.

They practiced the Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea (CUES), which was adopted at the 2014 Western Pacific Naval Symposium held in Beijing and also got involved in search and rescue activities with the participation of two US Navy ships, including USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) and USS Fort Worth (LCS 3).

The USS Fitzgerald is a massive Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer designed for long range battle conditions.

On the other hand, the USS Fort Worth is a much smaller fast Freedom-class littoral combat vessel, designed for coastal water battle space.
