The fourth round of Vietnam-US labour dialogue was held in Washington from August 17-18 to review the implementation of six technical projects funded by the US Department of Labour and discuss labour-related issues of mutual concern.

Vietnam informed the US about the important results of US-funded projects on employment services, social insurance, job creation for people with disabilities, child labour and HIV/AIDS prevention in the workplace.


On August 17, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Luong Trao and Deputy Under Secretary of the Labour Department Bureau of International Labour Affairs James Carter signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on continued labour cooperation in line with the two countries’ laws.

In addition, Mr Trao met with representatives from the US Members of Parliament Offices, the US Department of State, the US Department of Homeland Security.
