Thirty officers from the Vietnamese Border Guard Command attended a workshop on detection of fraudulent documents and impostor recognition in the immigration process from October 16-20.

The training session was part of a programme of regional activities funded by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and organised by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), according to a press release issued by the British Embassy in Hanoi on October 23.

The programme aims to build the capacity of border management authorities in South East Asia to prevent migration-related crime.

The training course brought together Border Guards from nearly 30 border stations all over Vietnam to share experiences, and to gain hands-on practice of fraud detection techniques with experienced IOM trainers from across South East Asia.
