Vietnamese embassy staff and students in Holland have taken part in the 2009 International Culture and Leisure Fair for the first time to highlight Vietnam’s land and people.
Nearly 4,000 people, mainly from Holland’s 4 big cities of Amsterdam, La Hay, Rotterdam and Utrecht have visited the fair with a total of 200 enterprises involved in culture, entertainment and sports.
At the event, the Vietnamese embassy in Holland highlighted a number of publications about Vietnam’s land and people, the eco-socio situation and measures being used to cope with the impact of the global economic crisis. It also focused on the country’s foreign policy and activities to celebrate Thang Long’s 1,000th anniversary (1010-2010).
In addition, many art performances given by Vietnamese students in Holland received warm encouragements from visitors.
Also at the event, The Hague Online organisation worked with the Vietnamese embassy in Holland to publish 15,000 pamphlets on the Fair, including a section advertising Vietnam to attract visitors to the country.
