Vietnam Summer Camp 2025 spreads spirit of compassion to international friends

VOV.VN - The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the People’s Committee of Ea Na commune in Dak Lak province (Central Highlands), presented charity gifts to 35 disadvantaged households in Tuor B hamlet, Ea Na commune on July 16.

The activity was part of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2025 program, themed “Together, we write the next chapter of peace”, which brings together 110 young overseas Vietnamese from 31 countries and territories.

At the event, 35 underprivileged households in Tuor B hamlet received meaningful gifts worth VND 2 million each from the overseas youth delegation, thus helping them overcome hardship and move toward a better life.

According to Ngo Thi Thanh Mai, Deputy Head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, visiting and offering support to disadvantaged families is a key part of this year’s summer camp. These activities not only provide practical assistance to local communities, but also give overseas Vietnamese youth a chance to understand everyday life in Vietnam and build closer connections with local residents.

In addition to visiting landmarks and historical sites in Ea Na commune, the overseas participants also participated in exchanges with local youth union members, thereby promoting friendship, learning, and the sharing of cultural and historical knowledge between Vietnam and the wider world.

Nguyen Duc Chon, Vice Chairman of the Ea Na commune People’s Committee, said these charitable activities by overseas Vietnamese youth went beyond simple community service, reflecting a spirit of love and compassion.

They reflect the Vietnamese tradition of mutual support and solidarity, and help spread these values to international friends. At the same time, the participants will take home meaningful memories and a deeper love for their homeland and for the people and land of the Central Highlands.

Running from July 13 to 26, the Vietnam Summer Camp 2025 features a range of practical activities carried out by young overseas Vietnamese across various provinces and cities nationwide.

The opening ceremony will take place on the evening of July 16 in Dak Lak. As part of the program, participants will also join cultural exchanges involving Central Highlands gong music, charity events, and visits to historical sites, museums, and scenic destinations throughout the province.
