Vietnam, Slovakia move to expand cooperation in firefighting and rescue operations
VOV.VN - A delegation from the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department under Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security, led by Deputy Director Colonel Hoang Ngoc Huynh, visited Bratislava in Slovakia for working meetings and exchanges on cooperation in firefighting and rescue operations.
During the visit from March 9 to 12, the delegation toured the headquarters of the Fire and Rescue Corps in Bratislava, the Automobile Installation and Repair Center under Slovakia’s Ministry of Interior, and the Lest military training center.
At these facilities, the delegation surveyed Slovakia’s leading products in the firefighting and rescue field; studied the functions, uses and technical specifications of specialized vehicles used for firefighting and rescue missions; and exchanged experience on the use of these vehicles in specific firefighting and rescue situations. The delegation also studied Slovakia’s experience with initiatives and models for implementing digital transformation in firefighting and rescue work.
On March 12, the delegation held a meeting with the chief executive officer of CSM Industry. The two sides exchanged views and studied possibilities for cooperation, technology transfer and the potential for producing in Vietnam specialized vehicles for firefighting and rescue use manufactured in Slovakia.
Speaking at the meetings, Colonel Hoang Ngoc Huynh spoke highly of Slovakia’s technological capacity and experience in producing specialized vehicles for firefighting and rescue operations. He said stronger cooperation, exchanges of experience and research on technology transfer would help improve the effectiveness of firefighting and rescue work in Vietnam in the coming period.
Colonel Hoang Ngoc Huynh also expressed the hope that Slovak agencies and companies would continue expanding cooperation with Vietnamese partners, particularly in training, the application of new technologies and digital transformation in firefighting and rescue work.
Slovak representatives from agencies and businesses said the visit by the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security delegation was an important opportunity to strengthen professional exchanges and promote concrete cooperation projects in the production and use of specialized vehicles for firefighting and rescue operations.
At the meetings, the two sides agreed to continue promoting firefighting and rescue cooperation between the two countries, based on the outcomes of the official visit to Slovakia by Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang in September 2025.
During the working trip, the delegation also held a meeting with the Embassy of Vietnam in Slovakia.
