Vietnam showcases largest quartz-made national flag at landmark exhibition
VOV.VN - A large national flag made from quartz and other minerals is on display at an exhibition commemorating 80 years of Vietnam’s national construction and development in Hanoi.

The flag, created by Phenikaa Group and its subsidiary Vicostone JSC, stands out with dimensions of 3,300 x 2,200 mm and a weight of up to 325 kg.
The vibrant red of the national flag, crafted from VICOSTONE® stone comprising 90% natural quartz combined with other minerals and bonding agents, is a masterpiece that encapsulates national pride.
Its vivid red background and symbolic gold star are a testament to national pride, seamlessly combining Vietnam’s historical legacy with modern innovation. The piece reflects the ingenuity and technological expertise of the Vietnamese people and highlights the country’s growing capabilities in advanced materials.
The flag was recognised as the largest of its kind in Vietnam by the Vietnam Records Organisation.
Alongside watching the sacred symbol, visitors can also explore other cutting-edge technologies developed by Phenikaa Group, including the Phenikaa-X drone, autonomous transport robots, and the Autopilot self-driving system featured on the VinFast VF8 electric vehicle.
Held at the National Exposition Centre on the outskirts of Hanoi, the exhibition spans over 900,000 square metres, with 304,000 square metres of indoor space. It is ranked among the top 10 largest exhibition centres in the world and the largest in Southeast Asia.
The exhibition features a number of major development achievements of all key sectors such as industry and technology, investment and trade, agriculture and rural development, national defence and security, foreign affairs, health care and education, culture–sports–tourism, and digital transformation.
It also has spaces that recreate Vietnam’s 4,000-year cultural traditions, celebrating the distinct identities of 54 ethnic groups, iconic architectural works, the diversity of regional specialties, and emerging industries such as green transition, aerospace, defence industry, and cultural industries.
The exhibition is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. from August 29 through September 5.
