The two ministries of science and technology of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) have pledged to boost cooperation in radioactive medicine during the 2007-08 period.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed in Hanoi on January 24 between Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Van Phong and his RoK counterpart, Woo-Sik Kim, who is also Deputy Prime Minister of the RoK.

On this occasion, representatives from the Institute of Material Science under the Academy of Science and Technology of Vietnam signed a cooperative agreement with their partners from the Mechanical and Materials Research Institute of the RoK.

The 2004-06 period witnessed considerable development of cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK in various fields, including scientific and technological management, agriculture, biotechnology, atomic energy, environmental protection, nano technology, and protection of flora and materials.
