Vietnam rises one place in World Happiness list

According to the list, Finland, with a population of 5.5 million, is the happiest nation. A number of factors have contributed to the Scandinavian country’s happiness, including trustworthy banks and police forces, good social welfare, and little corruption within their government.

Aside from Finland, other Scandinavian countries made the top 10. Norway, Demark, Sweden, and Iceland all found themselves among the ten happiest nations in the world.

This year’s world happiness list also saw major nations such as the United States (19th), Russia (68th), France (24th), and China (93th) fall.

Meanwhile, the least happy countries and territories were South Sudan, Central African Republic, Afghanistan, Tanzania, Rwanda, Yemen, Malawi, Syria, Botswana, Haiti, and Zimbabwe.

The ranking is based on a number of key criteria, including income, average life expectancy, social support, trust, and generosity.
