Vietnam ranks fourth in SEA on Numbeo safety index list 2025
VOV.VN - Vietnam has come in fourth in Southeast Asia on a safety index by country for 2025 released by crowdsourced data platform Numbeo that has listed the world’s safest countries for travel in 2025 in terms of crime.

To make the list, Numbeo rated 146 nations based on the overall level of crime as “derived from surveys conducted by visitors” to their website.
The 2025 safety index ranking by Numbeo reflects the safety levels of 146 countries based on survey responses from residents and tourists. The index considers factors such as safety when walking during the day and night, as well as various crimes, including homicide, robbery, sexual and physical assault, harassment, discrimination, and property crime.
In Southeast Asia, the countries show significant variations in safety levels, with Singapore standing out in the global top 10, while Cambodia, Myanmar, and Malaysia have lower safety scores.
Vietnam was in fourth place after Singapore, Brunei and Thailand, and ahead of the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Cambodia.
Globally, Andorra, located between Spain and France, topped the list with an enviable safety score of 84.7. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates (84.5), Qatar (84.2), Taiwan (82.9) and Oman (81.7).
The remaining destinations in the top 10 include Hong Kong, Armenia, Singapore, and Japan.
Meanwhile, the United States ranked only 89th with a safety score of 50.8, China in 15th place, and the Republic of Korea in 17th place.
