Vietnam ranks 45th on network readiness
VOV.VN - Vietnam ranks 45th out of 133 economies worldwide on the networked readiness index (NRI), up by 11 notches from the previous year.
The latest report was published by the Portulans Institute, an independent non-profit research and educational institute based in Washington DC in the United States. It is based on 133 economies’ performances in four different pillars, including Technology, People, Governance, and Impact, covering a total of 54 variables.
According to information set out in the report, the country scored a total of 54.96 points for four pillars. Its main strength relates to Impact. The greatest scope for improvement while concerned Governance.
Among 32 lower-middle-income countries, Vietnam led the NRI, followed by India in 49th and the Philippines in 63rd.
In addition, the country ranked 10th in Asia & Pacific. It has a score above the regional average in one of the four pillars, including NRI and Impact. The NRI 2024 is one of the leading global indices in terms of the application and impact of information and communication technology (ICT) in economies around the world.
It reveals a complex global digital landscape where significant disparities exist between regions and development levels.
The US leads with exceptional performance across artificial intelligence (AI) development, digital business transformation, and technology adoption.
Singapore has retained its spot in second position, while the Republic of Korea has risen to fifth, making them the only Asian countries in the top 10.
The rankings underscore Europe's dominance, with Finland, Sweden, and the UK occupying prominent positions.
