Vietnam People’s Army Day marked in Czech Republic

A celebration to mark the 73rd anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army Day (December 22) was held on December 17 in Prague by the Vietnamese War Veterans Association in the Czech Republic.

The event drew the participation of war veterans and their families as well as representatives from organisations of the Vietnamese community in the central European country.

It highlighted the importance of war veterans to the community.

According to Nguyen Duy Nhien, Chairman of the Vietnamese People Association in the Czech Republic, they hold important positions in many organisations and made significant contributions to promoting the image of Vietnamese expatriates in the country.

Since its establishment on December 22, 2014, the association has developed from just only two branches - the Karlovy Vary and five brothers - to nine branches with nearly 600 members.

Meanwhile, Duong Dinh Tuy, Chairman of the Vietnamese War Veterans Association in the Czech Republic, stated that the association is working to complete procedures to become a member of the Vietnam War Veterans Association.

Attendants at the event were impressed by the stellar art performance delivered by nine branches of the War Veterans Association in the host country.
