Construction of a cross-border check-point on the Vietnam-Laos border commenced in Laos’s Attopeu province on August 25.

The Phu Cua check-point - 1.5 km from the existing Bo Y check-point in Kon Tum province, in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, covers 27,000 sq.m.

It is being built with an ODA grant US$1.66 from Vietnam million under the two countries’ agreement on economic, cultural and scientific-technological cooperation.

The project is expected to be completed in September 2010, and will pair with Kon Tum’s Bo Y check-point, meeting international standards.
