Vietnam has officially joined the South-South Global Assets and Technology Exchange (SS-GATE) System, said the Ministry of Sciences and Technologies (MST).
A tripartite cooperation agreement on this issue was signed by representatives from the MST, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the SS-GATE in Hanoi on June 17.
SS-GATE System is one of the important channels for the country to develop its technology market and help domestic research institutes, schools and small- and medium-sized businesses access modern technologies and national and international financial and banking institutions.
The MST pledged to do its utmost to support SS – GATE’s operation in Vietnam.
First launched in May 2006 by the UNDP to response to the development challenges in countries of the South, the SS-GATE system aims to establish virtual and physical venues where entrepreneurs, civil society organisations and local governments in developing countries can interact and obtain needed technology, asset and finance in a secure and transparent environment.
