Vietnam joins ASEAN family festival in Geneva
(VOV) - As Chair of ASEAN delegations in Geneva, the Vietnamese delegation has directly co-ordinated activities of the Family Festival 2013.
Over 500 diplomats and their families from the permanent delegations of ASEAN member countries to the UN, the WTO and other international organisations in Geneva participated in the ASEAN Sports and Family Festival 2013 on July 6.
Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh said the event aimed to promote friendship and sporting spirit to achieve a dynamic, stable and peaceful ASEAN community.
The diplomats and their families joined in various sports competitions, including football, tennis, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, athletics, bowling, golf and tug of war. In addition, the children also showed their skills in painting and music.
After the competitions, everyone enjoyed the traditional foods of each country.
