Vietnam introduces unique products at Int’l Furniture Fair in Singapore

VOV.VN - More than 400 businesses from nations around the world, including Vietnam are participating in the International Furniture Fair 2018, which opened in Singapore on March 8.

In his opening address,, Singaporean Minister of Trade and Industry of S Iswaran said that the total turnover of the global wooden and home furniture market is forecast to reach US$770 billion by 202, thus offering favourable conditions for ASEAN businesses to seek new market segments suitable with their business models, with priority given to innovative and unique design products.

Tran Thu Quynh, Vietnamese trade counselor in Singapore, said in recent years, Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has worked closely with relevant agencies and help local businesses introduce their products to foreign markets, especially the potential of the furniture market.

This year, a Vietnamese delegation featuring many craft village businesses introduced their traditional products at the event. The four-day expo running to March 11 offered a good opportunity for local businesses to seek new solutions at a time when the world’s furniture industry is looking for innovative, useful, unique and eco-friendly products.

Le Thi Thuan, director of Qua Thuan Craft Co, Ltd said this is the third time her company has participated in such an event in Singapore, noting that the fair has helped the company and other businesses to introduce their products to and find business opportunities with Southeast Asian and international friends.

On the occasion, Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade has accelerated the implementation of activities to promote the Hanoi Gift Show 2018 set for mid-October.
