The Vietnam Gas Association (VGA) will work with the Department of Economic Police under the Ministry of Public Security to prevent and combat the illegal production and trading of gas.

In an agreement signed on May 10, both parties agreed to cooperate in preventing illegal production and trading of liquefied petroleum gas.

They will support each other in improving people’s professional knowledge, preventing fires and accidents and making gas businesses and consumers aware of their responsibilities, which will ensure the market to develop and make bigger profits.

Speaking at the ceremony, the VGA’s President, Nguyen Si Thang, stressed that this cooperation not only regulates gas production and trading but also protects consumer rights and public safety.

According to the association, hundreds of gas businesses operate in Vietnam and the country’s annual gas consumption stands at about one million tonnes.
