Vietnam Hospital Pharmacists Association established to enhance healthcare quality
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Hospital Pharmacists Association held its inaugural congress in Hanoi on August 10, marking its official establishment for the 2025-2030 term.

The Vietnam Hospital Pharmacists Association was officially licensed by the Ministry of Home Affairs on June 5, 2025. It is a professional social organization with members including managers, scientists, experts, pharmacists, doctors, and healthcare workers who voluntarily participate.
The Association aims to support professional activities, share experience, improve qualifications and skills, and contribute to the healthcare cause of protecting and enhancing public health.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen affirmed that the establishment of the Vietnam Hospital Pharmacists Association is a practical step to carry out the Party’s guidelines, State policies, and practical healthcare needs
The Association not only helps improve healthcare quality but also serves as a bridge connecting management agencies, professional organizations, enterprises, and healthcare workers. It also acts as an advisory, supervisory, and international integration channel.
The Deputy Minister of Health requested the Association to promptly complete and promulgate its charter, financial regulations, operational rules, and assign specific duties to each member. It should also actively participate in policy and law-making processes, supervise professional activities, and collect member feedback to propose timely solutions to issues regarding hospital pharmacy.
Additionally, the Association should focus on training and capacity building in management and technical expertise for its members to meet practical needs; strengthen domestic and international cooperation; organize effective scientific events and seminars; assist the Ministry of Health in issuing regulations and applying advanced technologies, especially AI, to optimize drug management and use.
The Congress elected a 69-member Executive Committee.
Dr. Pharmacist Cao Hung Thai, former Deputy Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management under the Ministry of Health, was elected Chairman of the Vietnam Hospital Pharmacists Association for the first term.
At the conclusion of the Congress, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Hospital Pharmacists Association and related organizations signed cooperation documents aimed at improving professional standards and making practical contributions to the healthcare sector.
