Vietnam is seeking international support to improve its human resources training quality, said Minister of Education and Training, Nguyen Thien Nhan, at the ministry's annual dialogue with international partners in Hanoi on January 29.

Minister Nhan asked donors for technical and financial assistance in devising new policies, upgrading the facilities for education as well as assessing education and training qualities.

Vietnam
also wants to gain experience on how to partly support students' expenses as well as on building labour market forecasting agencies, ranking job applicants and helping workers find jobs, the minister said.

At the conference, the Ministry of Education and Training also put forward a number of official development assistance (ODA) projects and a series of priority issues concerning all educational levels from kindergarten to tertiary education and vocational training.

Vietnam
needs around US$100 million for the 2006-2010 period to renovate and improve teaching and learning qualities and ensure equality in educational services for all pupils and students nationwide.

Donors' representatives said they intend to helpt Vietnam's educational sector build policies and facilities apart from upgrading teaching methods at all educational levels.
