A Vietnamese charity delegation led by former Vice President Truong My Hoa, on August 18, handed over 20 scholarships worth US$50 each to outstanding Vietnamese pupils in Laos.

Around 700 gift packets were also presented to Vietnamese living in difficult conditions in Laos on the same day by Mrs. Hoa during her three-day visit to the country on the occasion of the celebration of the August Revolution and Vietnam’s National day (September 2).

Previously, on August 16 and 17, the former VP, who is also president of the Fund for Support and Encouragement of the Overseas Vietnamese Community, and her delegation, visited and gave gifts to Vietnamese living in Bolikhamsay and Khammouan provinces.

Around US$33,000 was allocated from the Fund to assist a number of schools for Vietnamese pupils in the two provinces to upgrade teaching equipment and facilities.
