Vietnam GameVerse 2026 brings Vietnamese games to global stage

VOV.VN - The Vietnam GameVerse 2026 themed “Do local, go global” was launched on January 29, highlighting the ambition to position Vietnamese games and brands more deeply in the international market.

Marking its fourth year, the event is co-organised by the Department of Broadcasting, Television and Electronic Information alongside VnExpress, FPT Corporation, and the Vietnam Game Alliance.

The 2026 GameVerse series will take place from February to May, featuring four core activity groups including the Vietnam Game Awards, the Vietnam Game Forum, the GameHub competition, and a range of entertainment and esports activities. The programme will culminate in a large-scale exhibition scheduled for May in Ho Chi Minh City.

A major highlight of this year’s edition is the inaugural Southeast Asia Esports Cup, which will bring together leading teams from across the region and is expected to draw significant attention from the gaming community.

For the first time, the official programme will also include fan meetings with prominent esports teams, creating opportunities for direct interaction between players and fans.

In addition, the festival will honour outstanding products, services, and individuals through 21 awards across four categories including Golden Galaxy (games released in Vietnam), Golden Sun (Vietnamese-developed games), Golden Star (esports), and Golden Gear (gaming-related devices, products, and services).

Meanwhile, the third season of the GameHub competition, aimed at identifying promising game projects, will open for registration in March 2026. The three-round competition will provide domestic studios with opportunities to connect with international investors.

Another notable change this year is the introduction of ticketed entry, replacing the free-access model of previous editions. According to the organisers, this adjustment is intended to enhance content quality, invest more deeply in immersive experiences and exclusive activities, and move toward a more professional event format comparable to major international game exhibitions.

In parallel, the business-to-business (B2B) session of Vietnam GameVerse 2026 will be strengthened. The business matching is expected to welcome major global technology companies, fostering in-depth discussions and collaboration opportunities related to market trends, fundraising strategies, and global publishing models.

With its expanded scale and numerous new features, this year’s gaming festival is projected to attract around 60,000 visitors, further reinforcing its position as the largest annual event in Vietnam’s gaming industry.
